Sonoma County’s Democratic Party immediately engaged when Proposition 50 was placed on the November 2025 ballot, and instead of waiting for “official” state-wide materials to arrive, ordered doorhangers for walking, yard signs, and mailed a postcard to Sonoma County voters. Which was a good thing, given that it took many weeks for the “official” materials to arrive and when they did they were awful – violated every rule of campaigns and were therefore useless. Proposition 50 passed easily state-wide (in spite of the awful official print materials), and in Sonoma County passed overwhelmingly, with 73.83% of the vote, in part because of the efforts of the Sonoma County Democratic Party.
