“But what does it do?” Sometimes art actually fulfills a purpose, as well as being just....art. In creating functional art, my work covers a wide variation, from funeral urns to custom garden gates to guitars. Much of my functional art is intended to live outdoors, and/or be used. Exposure to the elements and use introduces entirely new interactions with pieces made from wood and various metals. My custom gates, furniture and just plain art pieces leave my shop in one condition, and after the passage of time outside, have morphed into something even more beautiful. I create it but nature finishes it. . |
